Week 1

Well I am a little slow on the uptake here, I find myself a little sleep deprived and between my two year old and my 12, 1 week olds I find myself having very little computer time. 1 week! Phew. We had a scare this week, little Thor (gold boy) decided he wanted to check out on me, there is term in the puppy world called "fading puppy syndrome" and he was showing all the signs. It is not un common and when it happens the Vet gives the patient about a 50/50 chance of survival, if that. I have been supplementing all of the puppies with a bottle since birth because Cinna is slow to get her milk in and when the little man took a turn for the worse I had to resort to tube feeding him. This means you take a tiny tube and put it down his throat all the way to his stomach and put the milk straight in. Between doing this every two hours around the clock and giving him some other home remedies I managed to bring the little man back from the edge. He is back to taking a bottle now but still requires feeding ever two hours night and day, and if he has enough spunk he will nurse off of mama as long as no brothers and sisters are there to push him off. He is almost 1/2 the size of the rest of the kids and is just a tiny little fellow, and oh so cute. Today I finally got him up past his birth weight, a huge achievement for him and something the rest did days ago. I don't think we are out of the woods with him yet but I am much more optimistic than I was a few days ago. I will do everything I can to get him up to full health like his brothers and sisters. Everyone else is doing awesome and growing fast and progressing great, eyes will open any day now and they are all trying to get up on their little legs and walk already. Cinna is a good mommy as always, she is awesome. And what I'm sure you have all been waiting for, pictures! :-) Enjoy

The Incredible HULK (who is starting to hulk up a bit) who has a cute little swiss kiss and what we think looks like a key on his chest, what do you think?

BEAST probably should have been The Flash since he has lightning bolts on both his chest and swiss kiss. Pretty cool we think.

STORM girl is so super cute, such a perfect face and a fun argyle patterned chest.

WOLVERINE or Logan as we have been calling him, is such a cute boy with a claw on his chest, fitting eh?
MAGNETO is a cute boy with 2 swiss kisses an hook on his tummy.

PROFESSOR X  is a super cute boy, with a little tiny more white on his right side than the left.

PHOENIX girl is such a chunk, and oh so pretty, I love her face.

MYSTIQUE is a pretty girl, look at that face? When she was born it looked like a heart on her chest, now it looks more like a literal heart, haha!

IRON MAN, look at his boy, isn't he handsome? Such a stud like his name sake. He has a crooked tail, the vet is unsure if it was broken or just dislocated. I will have a canine chiropractor check it out in a week or so.

THOR, the little man himself. He is such a cutie! His markings are very unique, I like them. What do you think?

CAPTAIN AMERICA, is definitely the leader of the pack. He is always the first to find mom and is the most outgoing trying to use his legs. :-)

HAWKEYE, I have to say is my favorite right now, I don't know why, he just is. His markings are very like Cinnas, so maybe I am partial. :-)

And those are our 1 week old bebes! I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I do. Send good thoughts our way for little Thor man, lets make him a little spit fire yet shall we? I hope all is well with everyone out there! If you are getting one of our puppies please feel free to come visit them in a few days or so, just let me know you are coming. Cheers!

Introducing the Supers!

We are so excited to announce the arrival of our B litter who we have dubbed our Supers! The Vet called Cinna a Wonder mama because she cranked out 12 puppies in under 7 hours which for canines is rather amazing. Our last litter of 9 took 9 hours. It was a fun night for all of us, puppies number two and four came in the dark, we had too many things (heating pad/lamps, room heaters, phone chargers etc) plugged in and we kept blowing the breaker, good thing cell phones have such good flashlights now days. The first half of the pack came on Monday the 17th and the last half came on the 18th. We ended up with 9 (jaw drop) boys and 3 sweet girls. I have some wonderful friends who acted as "Midwoofs" with me and it was a hugely successful whelping.
We took a field trip to the vet on Tuesday to have everyone checked out and make sure Mama was in good shape. Everyone received a clean bill of health and the bebes got fawned over by the techs, until Mama gave them the evil eye for getting too close that is. :-) She is a good protective Mama. Withought further adieu, ladies and gentlemen, I present "The Supers":

NOTE: some of the collar colors have been changed since these pictures.

Green male is "Hulk" (ironically enough he is the smallest of the bunch)
Yellow male is "Wolverine"
Gray male is "Professor X"
Gold male is "Thor"
Teal female is "Mystique"
Stars'n'stripes male is "Captain America"
Blue male is "Beast"
Red male is "Iron Man"
Purple male is "Magneto" (don't be fooled, so far he is not very villainous)
Orange female is "Phoenix" (so far she is the chunk of the bunch)
White female is "Storm"
No collar male is "Hawk Eye"

And that's the lot my friends, aren't they awesome?! A perfect dozen if I do say so myself. :-)
Iron Man
 Phoenix
 Hawk Eye
 Hulk
 Captain and Iron Man
 Hulk and Professor X

Beast on top of the pile.

We are very very excited for these babies and so happy they are finally here. We will be accepting visitors (from future owners) in about a week and a half and anyone else in about 2 and half weeks.

Yay for puppies!

Happy birthday!

Here they are!! Finally! And more than expected too, the end count is a whopping 12! 9 boys and 3 girls, lots of testosterone here. It was a very interesting whelping, Cinna was amazing and we are all very tired after pulling an all nighter. I will post some individual photos after I have had some sleep. We are so excited and glad they are finally here!

Waiting game...

Well we still have nothing exciting to report. Dogs normal body temperature is roughly 100-101 and 12-24 hours before active labor starts it will drop to about 97degrees. Cinna's temperature currently is hovering between 98-99. So we could have puppies any moment or she could be waiting until she drops all the way. This is the hardest part of this process for me, waiting waiting waiting. Sigh patience is a virtue right? (grrrrr) Here is Cinna hanging out in her whelping pool, she likes it. :-)
My next post will be of PUPPIES!!
