week 2!

Two weeks old today! Time flies. All of the puppies eyes are open and they have all started trying to walk and as of tonight they were sitting up like big dogs haha. So cute. I did two different photo shoots today and was vastly unsuccessful in getting good pictures, everyone is too wiggly for the camera. Here is what I got none the less.

Mr. Green

Chief

Ms. Scarlet

Mrs. White

Mrs. Peacock

Col. Mustard

Prof. Plum

Mr. Boddy

Wadsworth

At their nightly weigh in tonight Teal (Peacock) was the biggest and she has crossed the 2lb mark! She was a whole 2.03lbs. :-) Mamas milk is doing them good. Here are a few more pictures from throughout the week.

They love to snuggle with each other and with visitors! My nieces think it is their job in life to hold every one as much as possible. :-)

Here is a video from tonight showing just how cute they are and how cute puppy noises are.

Happy two weeks!

Genealogy

I thought I would give you a little look into Cinna's genealogy today, she has some very rad dogs in her lines. Her breeder never offered me much information about her parents or grandparents so I had to find it on my own. This is something I didn't want to do with all of you and if you are anything like me you will enjoy seeing where your dog came from.
I will start with her Mom, since I know the least about her, I have found her OFA records which has her pedigree on it but I have not been able to find much about those dogs. Her mamas registered name is L.C. Schweitzer of Roundprairie and her kennel name is Josey. This is her OFA record,

http://www.offa.org/display.html?appnum=1355795#animal

You will notice that on her elbows it says that she has degenerative joint disease 1. This was something I talked to my vet about before breeding Cinna, he said that having stage 1 elbows is the same as having fair hips, they just say it differently with elbows. He said elbows show up with this if there was an injury as well as with actual degeneration and that he doesn't worry about stage 1.

And this is her, Josey

Cinnas dads registered name is D’ Asgard Cierne Kralovstvoin and he comes from Kennel Cierne Kralovstvoi (Black Kingdom in english) in Belgium. You can see him as a puppy with them here,

http://www.sennenhunde.csystem.sk/puppies/photos-available-puppies/category/4-2_male

His kennel name is Rafe and here he is,

and Rafe as a puppy

You can see his pedigree here,

http://www.sennenhunde.csystem.sk/puppies/puppies-for-sale.html

He has 13 champions in his 4 generation line! Pretty awesome. You can see his parents there too but here they are anyway.

Cinnas Grandma "Samsara"

And her Grandpa "Corail"

They are pretty awesome dogs! And the product?

Love her. :-)

I dont know much about Docs parents as we are still trying to find them again. If I do you will be the first the know. :-) Fun Genealogy lesson eh?

1 week!

Puppies are 1 week old today! How quickly it flies and how much they grow. today as I was taking their 1 week pictures and Mr. Boddy (gray) was attempting to get up and walk away! He did not want his picture taken I guess. Here they are at one week.

Mr. Green - he has two cute Swiss kisses on the back of his neck and is the only puppy who does NOT have a white tipped tail. He is usually one of the top two biggest boys.

Chief (blue) - this big boy has a Swiss kiss and is long and robust.

Ms. Scarlet - She is a rather feminine little lady with a "6 hair" Swiss kiss like her mama. She seems to be petite and has perfect markings.

Mrs. White - is big and robust for a girlie, she was the first to make it from one side of the whelping box to the other on her own to find mama. she LOVES her food and keeping up weight wise with the bog boys.

Ms. Peacock (was pink) - is a sweet little thing though is big enough to throw her weight around.  She has changed outfits (colors) three times until we found one that fit her. :-) She has a fun personality.

Col. Mustard - is the "runt" of the litter but don't let that fool you, he is an awesome boy. All four of his pinky toes are brown and the rest of his markings are next to perfect. As of week 1 he is my pick of the litter (I'm sure this will change a lot haha).

Prof. Plum - is a super snuggly pup. His blaze is a little off to one side but it comes nice and high on his head.

Mr. Boddy - So far this boy has the biggest voice of the bunch. He knows how to get mamas attention, he is also the only one I have seen trying to actually walk instead of "swim" so far. He has great markings and is a nice thick pup.

Wadsworth -  this guy is a tank and is going to be built just like his daddy. He is the biggest pup and has a huge head. His blaze is off to one side and his rust is nice and dark.

That is the bunch! Aren't they awesome? As you can see their noses are starting to turn black and their foreheads are starting to dip so they actually look like dogs. :-) They all had their dew claws removed this week, (interesting note, only 4 of them were born with back dew claws) and the vet said they all look great! They had their first baths yesterday, and for the most part they seemed to enjoy it.

here is "Chief" enjoying the warm water and sucking on his own leg. :-)
Cinna waiting out the whole bathing process underfoot and hoping I don't decide its her turn next. :-)

We are going to attempt our first nail trimming tonight, eek. Wish us luck and we hope all is well!
