Gearing up for litter "B"!

Christmas in in the air and so are the canine hormones! Cinna is in heat and Doc will be coming to visit any day now. This is a month earlier than we expected but it is going to make for spring time puppies!
For those of you joining us here at Blue Hill, Welcome! We are so glad to have you. Here is some information for those considering a Blue Hill Swissy.

Cinna,

our Greater Swiss Mountain dog, is sweet, loving, goofy, and loyal. She was born July 24th 2009 and joined our family when she was 5 months old. Her Sire (D’ Asgard Cierne Kralovstvoin) was imported from Kennel Cierne Kralovstvoin in Europe and has amazing Swiss lines filled with Champions and clear elbows, hips, eyes etc. Her mother (L.C. Schweitzer of Roundprairie) has OFA good hips, normal shoulders, level 1 elbows and clean joints all through her pedigree.  Cinna is amazing with our two year old daughter and is, we think, the best family dog ever. She is a little shy of strangers at first and is protective of her yard and family. She is a quick learner and is a great mother. She is great with other dogs, cats, all sorts of animals and people when she gets to know them. Cinna has ongoing training with Wasatch Canine Camp and often helps Bethany with other clients’ dogs. Her markings are very symmetrical and her conformation is good, she is 95lbs which is on the small side for a Swissy—but she’s built just like a good Swiss dog should be. Her daddy was 130lbs at 2 years old and she seems to have passed that big gene onto her pups. We love our Cinna, especially when she flashes her winning Swissy smile.

Doc

is an almost 4 year old GSMD/BMD cross. He is big (120lbs), handsome, happy go lucky and willing to please. Doc belongs to Joseph Randall of Bountiful Utah. Doc is an all around good ‘ole boy type dog, he loves to play, cuddle and has looks to die for. Doc is great with dogs, other animals, and all people young and old. He is medium/short haired, tall and blocky. Doc has passed on some awesome qualities to his puppies. Doc is available to meet if requested.

We take pride in our puppies, and make sure they are well rounded, healthy, social pups before they go home with you. We strive to have them meet at least 100 strangers before leaving us. All puppies will be evaluated by a certified dog trainer/behaviorist (Wasatch Canine Camp). All puppies are started on potty training at 3 weeks old, bite inhibition, impulse control, crate training, coming when called...the works.

Included with your puppy is:

- Dewclaws removed

- First 2 sets of shots

- Deworming done

- MANY puppy training/behavior/nutrition/breed info packets for you to take home plus week by week photos of your pup.

- A gift basket filled with all sorts of goodies to take home with your new puppy.

- UNLIMITED free socialization classes your puppy can attend through Wasatch Canine Camp

- Each puppy will undergo Early Neural Stimulation from 3 days - 4 weeks old (proven to create pups that are less prone to an over-reaction to stimuli, tend to be much more social, and adapt to change more easily. As well as become more resistant to certain forms of cancer and infectious diseases)

- Each puppy will be adjusted by a chiropractor at 5 weeks old (because the birthing process can be hard on them, this will help them develop properly as they get older)

- Each puppy will complete a temperament test at 7 weeks old (to help us place the right puppy in the right home)

- Each puppy will be started on potty training, crate training, and coming when called

- Each puppy will be extremely socialized to kids, dogs, cats, people (we have them meet 100 people before leaving to their new homes), noises, obstacles, and new objects

-Support from us as a breeder for the life of your Swissy. We will be here for anything you might need advice/help with, training, nutrition, etc.

- And more!

Please contact us if you would like to be placed on the hold list, and be kept updated on the pregnancy, birth etc. of our puppies! Also if you would like more information on the breed please feel free to contact us.  Please peruse past blog posts for more info, pictures etc.
To fill out an adoption application please use this link and either email or snail mail it to us. Thank You!

New homes for litter A "Clue"!

Here I am, a little after the fact, but here all the same. All our sweet pups made it to their new homes and are settling in well I am told. Cinna was a little blue for a few days but she quickly recovered and is doing great. I took her to a week long dog training seminar last week and she was awesome and everyone loved her. I hope everyone loves her pups as much as I love her. :-)

Here are all of you wonderful people with your wonderful puppies! (hope you don't mind me borrowing your photos :-))

Mr Green is now Cooper

Chief is still Chief :-)

Ms. Scarlet is now Josie
(teehee just like her mama)

Mrs White is now Harley
(with her new big brother Gage)

Mrs Peacock is now Ginny

Professor Plum is now Grizzly
(practicing being a big dog :-))

Mr. Boddy is now Sir Wallace
 (is that cute or what?)

Wadsworth is now Cassius

Colonel Mustard is now Echo and lives with his daddy Doc

I just love seeing pictures of them and hearing how they are doing. If any of you have more pictures please please send them my way! And I love the updates, keep em coming! Thank you all for taking such good care of my (now your) puppies. I hope you all love them forever!

8 weeks!

Yesterday the puppies were 8 weeks old! crazy talk. Only one more week to go! I will be honest and say I can understand why sane people only get one puppy at a time. :-) Here they are at 8 weeks!

Mr Green- now Cooper Green
Who was INTENT on not having his picture taken, I finally resorted to this, and even then he was a nerd.

Chief- who is staying Chief :-)
He didn't like that bench, but would not hold still anywhere else :-)

Ms. Scarlet- now Josie

Mrs. White- now Harley
who refused to look at me, silly dog

Mrs. Peacock- Ginny, Holly, or Kora (haha decisions decisions)

Prof. Plum- waiting for his name

Mr. Boddy- also waiting

Col. Mustard- now Echo (get it? he is an Echo of Doc :-))

Wadsworth- now Cassius
Also would not pose, sheesh, stinky puppies ;-)

And there they are, those are probably the last portraits I will do of them. Sigh.

This is the only way I can get all of them, and even then I think one is missing in one or two. Sad day. Aren't they so stinking cute? Jail birds. :-)

7 weeks!

I'm a little slow this week, life grabbed a hold and ran with us this week, crazy how that happens sometimes. :-) We have begun the choosing process and have only made it to number 3 so far, we will get there though. So far Colonel and Chief are spoken for. Here are some pictures from the week.

Mr Green.

Chief

Ms. Scarlet (who wanted to look like a dork for her picture :-))

Mrs. White

Mrs. Peacock

Prof. Plum (who was sleepy)

 Colonel Mustard

Mr. Boddy (who looks the most mastiff like in the head and body)

Wadsworth (Watson)

They are all so awesome, I don't think you could pick a bad one in the bunch. :-)
Doc can to visit this last week, he didn't quite know why we wanted him to be all excited about a bunch off little runts running around. He was so tolerant and just let them be crazies around him.
Scarlet getting some daddy play time

"Umm why do I have to be in this pen where all the puntables are?"
Boddy checking to see if daddy has any food for him
mama and daddy with the brood
A few more...
 hehe I love frog dogs
 peek a teal!
Its so impossible to get a picture of them all at once. Today we had an adventure and tried really hard to get them all in mamas dog cart, yeah I don't know what we were thinking, or how other people get such great photos! I think we waited a few weeks too long to try, they are just too rambunctious now. But here are some of the attempts :-).
 Cart O' Pups!
This particular cart was not built to hold 100lbs of puppy, haha hence why Ray has to help support it up off of Cinna. :-)
How many do you count haha!
This was probably the best photo I got, which is kind of sad, but still cute!
All of the different facial expressions are priceless!
And this is what the majority of them look like, pups trying to bail :-)
And that was our fun for the day.
I also wanted to post the Temperament test scores today, they all did really well, everyone got 3's and 4's which are great!
